1st International Medal in FENCING for The Chess Pirate AMIR FAIZ AMIRUL - BRONZE, U15 SABRE.

CM Amir Faiz Amirul won his first international fencing medal in the 2020 International Touche Minime Competition on his third attempt. Previously, he had competed in the U10 Foil at Y-Sparks 2017 and both U12 and U14 Foil and Sabre Minime 2019 competitions both in Singapore

The competition saw fencers and sabreurists from 9 countries taking part with Hong Kong, Philippines, Singapore and Malaysia well represented in all weapons.


The Bronze Medal

Amir Faiz path to the bronze started in his Pool where he managed to beal all 3 Indonesians and a Malaysian whilst losing to his team mate Aidan 2-5. Having won 4 bouts and losing 1, resulted in him finishing second in the pool. 

After the pool rounds, he was ranked 4th overall after consolidating all the pool results.
In the eliminations, he managed to reach the semi-finals where he lost 6 - 15 to eventual silver medalist Ershad Halid also from Malaysia.
