CP is 2nd in ASIA @10th ASIAN SCHOOLS C.C. 2014

Official RESULTS

In the just concluded 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2014, the cHEss pIRATE finished tied on first place with 7 points in 7 wins from 9 rounds. However, after the first tie-break i.e. PE he ends up being the RUNNERS-UP.

It was announced during the prize-giving ceremony that the top 3 finishers from the U7  to U11 Open categories will be awarded the Candidate Master or, CM title.

CP is in TAIWAN for the 10th ASIAN SCHOOLS C.C.2014

CP Amir Faiz is in Taichung-TAIWAN for the 10th Asian Schools Chess Championship 2014.
The event will be held at the Washington High School in Taichung.

This will be his second participation in the Asian Schools C.C. event having participated in last year's 9th ASCC 2013 in Hikkaduwa-SRI LANKA and finishing on 31st place out of 41 players with 3.5 points.

MAIDEN Classical FIDE-Ratings - 1498

Despite initial reservations, participating in the 8th Asian Dragons U-16 category turned out to be a good decision. The 2 points notched against 2 Olympiad Players from Taiwan and 1 from Macau enabled his ratings to be issued.

Finally, after participating in 12 FIDE-rated classical events over 3 years since he was 5years old way back in 2012 staring with the 4th Penang Heritage City Open as his debut classical tournament,  the cHEss pIRATE got his maiden FIDE-rating for the classical game in the August 2014 list published by FIDE.

#4 World - U7 category (6th if inactive players are included).
#2 ASIA  - U7 category
#1 MALAYSIA - U9 category

Based on this FIDE link, he is ranked no.186 in Malaysia amongst active players sandwiched between Chun Hong (1500) and Jagathees GB(1492).
